Lower your Risk of Breast Cancer with these Tips

Breast cancer is growing as a concern in modern times. It is true that certain factors like genetics, aging, etc. can’t be avoided.

However, if detected at an early stage, breast cancer is perfectly curable. Changing some bad habits or lifestyle can also make someone stay safe from breast cancer.

Tips to prevent Breast Cancer

1) Control the Body Weight:

Like many other threats, gaining excess weight always holds the threat of breast cancer. Specifically, the post-menopause weight gain issues hold greater threats in this regard. This is so as most of the estrogens come through fat tissues post menopause.

The greater amount of fat tissues hold greater threats of cancer by hiking the estrogens count. Increasing weight sometimes make women take a greater level of insulin, which is a hormone that holds the threat of breast cancer. Hence, one should lose weight to stay safe. Perfect body weight often helps in improving breast cancer treatment.

2) Do some exercises daily:

There can’t be an any better way to stay healthy than working out regularly. It is advised that one should exercise for at least one and a half hour every week for maintaining a healthy body. The best recommendation would be to go for a morning walk or evening walk regularly. Though weight loss or gain is never a symptom of breast cancer, it certainly helps in prevention. Specialists will always recommend doing exercise regularly.

3) Lessen sitting hours; take breaks in between:

It has been seen through many types of research that people who sit for longer hours hold the greater risk of cancer. It holds greater threats of breast cancer.

According to studies, women who spend time sitting for more than 5 hours without working hold greater risks of breast cancer. These people are recommended to take at least 5 to 10 minutes of breaks in between to avoid greater threats.

4) Less alcohol and smoking:

Any breast cancer doctor would always advise avoiding the consumption of alcohol and habit of smoking. Women taking a couple or three drinks every day hold greater risks than others. Similar is the case about smoking as well.

To be specific, the hard liquor is more dangerous than the beers. The soft drinks also hold threats of breast cancer upon being consumed excessively. Smoking of any type can be injurious to health.

5) Consult before going for HRTs:

Many people go for hormone replacement therapy in modern times for various issues. Among women, it is getting common for issues of menopause. But according to the studies, women who take a blend of estrogens and progestin are more prone to breast cancer. Interestingly, the breast cancer threats can be brought down to negligible after stopping usage of hormones, in around 4 to 5 years.

It means no need to go for breast cancer surgery. It would be even better to consult with the doctors for greater insight into it. They can recommend the safer dosage as per the body types. Things can be made clearer by discussing menopause pattern broadly while taking such hormone therapy.

6) Self-check and reach the doctor on time:

There is absolutely no alternative to self-check in regular intervals. Not just the breast, one should check other regions like armpits, areas around the collarbone etc. should also be checked and felt to ensure everything is fine.

One should immediately visit the nearby Cancer Surgery Hospital upon coming across with any sort of irregularity, rash, swelling, etc. Breast cancer can be perfectly cured upon being detected early.
